I work in retail again.  The holidays came.  I just got busy.  And tired.  Writing became slower, blog posts stopped.

Now it’s well into the New Year.  I have a lot of really fun things in the planning stages, and we’re prayerfully focusing on the possibility of an end game where I am able to back off of my day job a little in the next couple of years to work more in some form of ministry.

I never thought that I would have experienced a journey quite like this.  No magical summer camp fire conversions, no drunken moment of clarity.  People say that God works in mysterious ways when they don’t understand what’s going on.  I would have never thought He would have cared to convert a Christian raised in His own house.

Depending on your beliefs, Protestant, Catholic, or Presbyterian, you may believe I was saved that night as a child or the night I was baptized, or even most recently.  The truth is, God works in mysterious ways and salvation is a journey.  If I would have died when I lived with my dad, would I have gone to heaven?  It doesn’t matter, He knows the plans He has for me.

I still don’t know how this story is going to go.  I still don’t know if it’s my time yet.  All I know is we need to disciple one another, grow in faith by reading the word and having fellowship with one another.  We know the truth, the light and the way, but so many of us don’t live like it.  Let’s make a decision now to be a part of the solution and fix it, together.

Let’s not wait until next week, or the beginning of next years Lent, or Spring Cleaning.  Let’s do it now.  If someone comes to you because they know you believe in God and asks for prayer, don’t tell them you’ll pray for them.  Actually pray with them right then.  Find an Iron man, or woman.  Be brutally honest with yourself and others on where you stand in your faith.  It hurts, but it’s necessary.

My favorite blog post on the old Love Makes Life Sweeter is one that I want to revisit sometime, titled I am Shamgar son of Anath.  When you become inspired to become a better person, you become a better person.  Then you add to the inspiration.  You write another chapter on what it means to be a Godly person that will help inspire more people.

Discipleship is of utmost importance, now more than any other time.

I am very interested to hear your point of view and the story of your journey.  Please comment below, or on our Facebook.

And as always, follow if you follow, like if you like, share if you want others to know whats up…and I’ll see you on the other side!

Me at my current job…yes, that is a pocket protector.
